Guest Gillian soars the skies of East Lothian in microlight flight

We are fortunate that Leuchie House is just a 5 minute drive from an airfield, out of which East of Scotland Microlight operates. A few of our guests have taken advantage of this in recent years and this week was Gillian's turn. The weather was superb, with clear blue sky - a perfect day for it!

There was a mixture of nerves and excitement before take off “It was a birthday present and it’s been 4 years in the making so I might need a glass of champagne when I land to settle the nerves!” But an hour later, when on terra firma she was ready to do it all over again. "It was amazing, absolutely amazing! I loved flying over the sea and I saw the golf courses getting set up for the Open. The bass rock looked tiny from up there! I want to do it tomorrow again."
