Leuchie has always delivered the very best care and support for people living with neurological conditions, a fact recognised in our Care Inspection grades, which are among the highest in Scotland.
In recent years we have been thinking about how we can do more to ensure that a visit to Leuchie has ongoing impact for guests and their carers when they return home.
This starts with ensuring that we have excellent, sector leading and nurse-led assessments of guests’ health care needs and interests before they arrive at Leuchie.
In 2021 we have started to develop a new, in-house Allied Healthcare Team for the first time. This multi-disciplinary team will combine the skills of our Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists with visiting services and our brilliant care and guest engagement teams.
We will add to this team by hiring an expert Head of Enabling Technology having already invested significantly in technology, bringing in business speed broadband and the Internet of Things, to give guests a taste of the future and the chance to improve their self-management and independence.
Whether it be test driving off-road SMART wheelchairs or using rooms with voice activated lights, curtains, SMART TV’s and Alexa-linked Ring Door Bells, we always test and stretch the boundaries of what is and may be possible. This matters for Leuchie, our guests and their families now, and in time we expect our experience and profiling data will be useful to everyone in Scotland who requires extra support as a result of physical disability.
We are a place like no other. If you share our passion for providing excellent health-care service and want to be part of the solution to the challenges which we will all face in the future then call us for a chat. We’d love to hear from you and welcome you into one of the best teams in the country.
