Leuchie Long Lunch raises £176,200
On Friday 22nd November we hosted our 3rd annual business leaders's fundraising event, The Leuchie Long Lunch, in the Stables building at Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh.
Building on the successes of the last two years, this year was a sell out with 42 tables of Leuchie supporters, old and new who came together to hear themes of Leadership and Laughter.
Guests heard about leadership through our keynote leadership speaker Damian Hughes, co-host of The High Performance podcast, who emphasised, through story telling, simplicity of thinking, the value of listening, leaving your ego at the door and the importance of kindness.
TV Magician Ben Hanlin wowed everyone with some pretty astonishing magic tricks and just as our Chair, Stephen Pearson stood up the award the most generous table, MC Hammersmith gatecrashed the stage for a surprise performance which left the room roaring with laughter.
We heard from our CEO, Mark Bevan, who told Leuchie guest Sharon's story - who hadn't realised her family was falling apart and struggling with the burden of care, until they found Leuchie. He told the room that their generous donations were turning hope into certainty for the many families we support.
The total raised was £172,600, an incredible amount which will allow us to turn HOPE into CERTAINTY for many of the families we support.
Natasha Raskin Sharp did a fantastic job at hosting us again and leading the live auction.
Thanks to sponsors Stewart Investors, MBM Commercial LLP, Progeny and Hamilton Waste & Recycling Ltd, Cox & Co, MNM Developments (Scotland) Ltd and our brand partner for the event Grange Edinburgh - Aston Martin.
