HRH The Princess Royal, holds dinner for Leuchie

We were honoured that Leuchie’s Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, kindly agreed to hold a special dinner at The Palace of Holyroodhouse recently.

The evening was held in recognition of the significant increase in demand for support, from people living with a neurological condition, and the loved ones who care for them. Leuchie has only been able to respond to this demand because of the commitment of some of our most longstanding supporters, team and volunteers, who have enabled more families than ever to cope with the responsibilities of caring for a loved one.

Leuchie guest, Sharon, spoke about the importance of respite breaks to her and her family, saying, “Following my diagnosis with MS ten years ago, the condition gradually stole my health, my independence and my self confidence; and it nearly ruined my family. Luckily, my respite breaks at Leuchie in 2024 have been a lifeline for all of us, helping us to live positively with MS.”

The Princess Royal acknowledged the high-quality care and support provided by Leuchie, saying, “Investing in the facilities and technology matters, but it’s the people that make the difference. They are the special thing about the way we work at Leuchie, and we need your help to continue to do more”.

We are hugely grateful to HRH for holding this event and allowing us to show our appreciation to just a few of our amazing supporters.
