Louise
Louise's role at Leuchie involves helping guests to live well with their long-term condition. This is often through advice, education about conditions and taking time to try to understand individual guest’s lives and what works or doesn’t work for them.
She works with NHS professionals to ensure guests have the right equipment and receive the right treatment, and also often treats pain, advises on posture and tries to work out how activity and exercise can fit into our guest’s lives.
Louise used to be a Chartered Tax Advisor with a law degree (!) but, luckily for us, changed career choice. She studied Physiotherapy at Coventry University, gaining a First Class Honours BSc in Physiotherapy. Her first physio role was at Leuchie but she then moved away and worked in a Musculoskeletal clinic, where she trained in taping and acupuncture, amongst other things. She also gained a postgrad certificate in the Clinical Management of Pain from Edinburgh University in 2001. Ten years later in 2021 Louise came back to Leuchie to join up with Katie to launch the new Therapy department.
Louise lives in North Berwick with her husband and two teenage children, once cockapoo and a Maltese (who is the boss).
