Mark Hazelwood

What's your day job?

Chief Executive, Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care

When did you become a Leuchie trustee?

Why did you decide to become involved with Leuchie?
I've been aware of the great service provided by Leuchie since before it became an independent charity. I felt I could and should do a bit to support such an important organisation.

What do you do as a Leuchie trustee?
I support the Chief Executive and her fantastic team, I provide oversight of the strategic direction of the organisation and I try to tell people about Leuchie House wherever I go.

What do you get out of it?
I get a sense of satisfaction knowing that I have played a small part in an organisation which makes a big difference to the lives of many people and their families who are lviing with serious illness.

Tell us one thing about you that we probably wouldn't expect:
I once played my guitar and sang Hey Jude at Leuchie House.

If you could invite someone to Leuchie for afternoon tea, who would it be and why?
Barack Obama, because he seems like he would be great company for our guests and staff.

If you could wave a magic wand, what would the Leuchie of the future be like?
I'd like there to be more Leuchies across Scotland.
